It seems everyone has an opinion these days.  Financial, market, and economic information is not cheap – it’s free. There’s never been so much of it so easily available. But in the midst of all the noise, it’s often easy to miss the really important statistics – those that are seldom ever presented in mainstream media.

Hence this site, a global snapshot of relevant statistics to help make sense of the current global credit crisis.

  • Bank Failures is a regularly updated list of all bank failures globally since January 2007;
  • Treasury Debt Ceiling is an historic record of every increase in the US Treasury Debt Ceiling;
  • US$ Index is a graph of the changing value of the US$ index over the years;
  • Gold & Silver contains graphs showing the volatile price in both metals over 1, 5 and 20 years;
  • Age of Civilisations is a look at the longest running and shortest civilisations and compares our current civilisations to the many that have failed before.
